20K7. (Twenty Cassette). A selection of twenty solo home 4 track cassette, digital recordings, and band studio demos, mostly from the mid to late 1990s with a handful made a little later.
All recorded in Brittany, France. Only one of these ended up, in a revised form, on any sort of 'official' release.
Those with the most tape hiss started life on an old Fostex X-15 that had been dropped too many times, and could let you down at the most crucial moment. some were on a Fostex digital 4 track, which had its own limitations, a couple were done on the computer, and could have done with a few more gigabytes of memory. The 'studio' recordings were on tape or later digital, mostly done outside of a conventional studio setting.
The songs followed no plan or concept, and were whatever came out of my head at the time.
